Nearly Every Item In Stardew Valley Has A Unique Code
How To Use Stardew Valley's Item Code Exploit
The Best Item Codes In Stardew Valley
The Most Useful Item Codes In Stardew Valley
Stardew Valley 1.6 Update Item Codes
Summary
- A useful exploit in Stardew Valley allows players to obtain almost every item easily.
- Every item in Stardew Valley has a specific number and players can use this information to write the codes in the farmer's name and obtain these items easily.
- Some items in Stardew Valley are difficult to find, and this exploit makes some tasks much easier.
One of the challenging things to manage in Stardew Valley is acquiring every item in the game. Still, players found an easy exploit that allows them to get unlimited items and money. Stardew Valley is a beloved staple of the simulation game genre, due primarily to its expansive gameplay, RPG elements, and enormous amount of in-game content. Its multifaceted and flexible mechanics allow players to create a unique world and experience with every playthrough. However, no matter the direction that players choose to take, they will need a large amount of materials and resources to expand their farming operations. Unfortunately, many high-value resources don't become available (or indeed, affordable) until years into the game.
Modding has become very popular among players of the PC version of Stardew Valley since mods let players add even more mechanics, content, and resources to the already rich environment of Pelican Town. However, many gamers don't wish to mod the game, preferring to enjoy Stardew Valley in its original state. Luckily, there are ways to manipulate the game's code without downloading mods or otherwise affecting the base version. Doing so allows players to unlock even the rarest items easily and quickly.
Updated on August 3, 2024, by Andrea Sandoval: While Stardew Valley was released several years ago, players are still as keen on playing this outstanding game as they were when it was first released. However, replaying the game while lacking resources can make certain parts of the story a pain. We updated this list to include some of the best yet rarest items in Stardew Valley.
Nearly Every Item In Stardew Valley Has A Unique Code
- This exploit can only be used on a PC or Mac version of Stardew Valley.
Nearly every item in Stardew Valley is assigned an ID value, which is represented by numbers within brackets. For example, within the game's code, the Strange Bun is represented by [203], while an Ancient Fruit is [454]. By exploiting the way the game reads these values, players can cause up to three items to appear in their inventory, which can then be kept, used in different quests, or sold for profit.
However, it should be noted that this exploit is not usable in the game's console versions — Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, or Xbox. This means only PC or Mac players can have access to this unique feature, as the console versions don't allow players to use the bracket symbols "[ ]". Players can write them down, but they will disappear from the name, leaving spaces instead.

Dwarf Scrolls are hardly the easiest find in Stardew Valley, but fortunately, players can obtain these unique items in several different ways.
- After changing the farmer's name, players can call Gus several times to make the best of this exploit.
- To call Gus, players have to purchase a phone from Robin's store.
- After placing it in their home, players can call Gus the whole day to get as many items as possible in the least amount of time.
The best way for players to exploit the game's item codes is by making the farmer's name a string of up to three codes with no spaces. In doing so, every time the farmer's name appears in any type of text box — when speaking with other characters, for example — those items will be instantly added to the inventory. If the farmer's name is "[74][166][432]", players will get a Prismatic Shard, a Treasure Chest, and a Truffle Oil added to their backpack.
Players can change their name and, by extension, the type of item added, at the Shrine of Illusions in the Wizard's basem*nt for 500g. Since the Shrine unlocks after the Wizard's four-heart event, this is relatively easy, but players may wish to select the most valuable items possible to start. This exploit can also be achieved when purchasing animals from Marnie or naming children, but it can only be done once in these ways. Even so, this can be an excellent way to grab some rare, valuable items.

12 Stardew Valley Challenges Players Need To Try
For players who want to put their skills and strategic thinking to the test, Stardew Valley offers many satisfying challenges to conquer.
When picking items to use for this exploit, it's best to consider their usefulness, since players can only get three at a time. There are a handful of items in Stardew Valley that sell for a remarkable amount of gold even without iridium quality, which can be indispensable for those just starting their farm and veteran farmers alike. Unfortunately, structures like the farm Obelisks and most non-sellable items like clothing or farming tools don't have assigned values that work for this exploit.
Item | ID Code | Base Value |
---|---|---|
Tiger Slime Egg | [857] | 8000g |
The Legend | [163] | 5000g |
Treasure Chest | [166] | 5000g |

Stardew Valley's Darkest Act Has Some Unsettling Consequences
Stardew Valley gives players a dark way to get around the game's two-child limit -- and doing so unlocks some dark Easter eggs.
Some items in Stardew Valley are extremely difficult to find even if you have been playing the game for hundreds of hours. Unfortunately, it isn't possible to use this exploit to acquire rare pieces of clothing (such as the so-sought-after Living Hat), or some big machines like the Auto-Petter, but there are others that players can get in no time with only their particular ID codes. The Auto-Petter can at least be purchased in Joja Mart (if you follow that route) and this exploit will make it easy to get lots of money, so that shouldn't be a problem.
Other items, however, such as the Ostrich Egg, are not so difficult to find, but players only have one chance to use them in the incubator. Players who lose their one and only Ostrich Egg would benefit from using this exploit if they want Ostriches on their farm. Some other items might not seem as rare as the Magic Rock Candy, but they are a pain to get and make life in the mines infinitely easier, especially when it comes to the dangerous versions.
Item: | Code: | Description: |
---|---|---|
Horse Flute | [911] | An item that players can only obtain after unblocking the Walnut Room on Ginger Island, the Horse Flute allows players to summon their Horse. |
Tea Set | [341] | The Tea Set is a decorative furniture item, but it has become iconic for how difficult it is to find it in the game. |
Ostrich Egg | [289] | Players will find one easily, but if they lose it or waste it, it will be really hard to get another one to put in the incubator. |
Galaxy Soul | [896] | Usually in Qi's Walnut Room store, it helps players improve their weapons in the Forge. |
Magic Rock Candy | [279] | It is pretty hard to find, and it gives players buffs in every skill. |
Void Ghost Pendant | [808] | Usually, on sale at the Desert Trader stand for 200 Void Essence, and it allows players to ask Krobus to be their roommate. |
Mermaid's Pendant | [460] | Normally, it can only be purchased from the Old Mariner on the beach on rainy days, and it allows players to ask their partners to marry them. |
Pearl | [797] | They are somewhat rare, and they can be used for tailoring, as a universally loved gift, or placed in Fish Tanks. |
Pierre's Missing Stocklist | [897] | Usually, players can only get it at Qi's Walnut Room on Ginger Island, and it allows players to purchase any seasonal seed from Pierre all year long. |
Magic Bait | [908] | Generally, it is only available at Qi's Walnut Room on Ginger Island, and it allows players to fish any fish all year long at any time and in any weather. |
Golden Egg | [928] | Produces golden Chicken. |
Qi Gem | [858] | The currency to purchase products in Qi's Walnut Room on Ginger Island. Usually very hard to get as it entails completing difficult sidequests from Qi. |
Golden Walnut | [73] | Another currency from Ginger Island, allows players to unblock areas of the island. |
Mystery Box | [MysteryBox] | Players usually find these boxes by doing their regular farming activities. While they usually don't have very rare items inside, they do contain a Mystery Hat, Mystery Shirt, and Mystery Wallpaper that make it worth it to acquire. |
Secret Note | [79] | Secret Notes (which can be read after Krobus gives you the Magnifying Glass during the first winter) contain useful information about people in Stardew Valley. |
The Most Useful Item Codes In Stardew Valley
One of the best ways to use the item codes in Stardew Valley is to make money quickly, but this hack can also be extremely useful for further quests in the game. It's common to find tasks that ask for a particular item — some of which can be difficult to obtain, especially at the beginning of the game. For example, if players decide to restore the Community Center, they will need a wide variety of items to unlock several features and complete the renovations to the building. While some items are easy to find, others could take more time. This is where some item codes become very handy to finish that tricky bundle that's proving to be a headache.

10 Best Kept Secrets In Stardew Valley
Mixing things up throughout the game, Stardew Valley's best-kept secrets unlock eye-opening revelations and add extra fun to a player's day.
Even though foraging items are pretty easy to find around Pelican Town, players would have to wait an entire season to obtain each of the items from every seasonal foraging bundle. If players want to get ahead quicker without wasting much time or sacrificing gameplay, foraging item codes can be a lifesaver.

Pantry Bundles Items
Much like foraging, the items from the pantry might be hard to find since they're conditioned for just one season before the players unblock the Greenhouse or Ginger Island. This means that players would have to wait until summer to grow tomatoes and until fall to grow pumpkins. Additionally, since these are some of the most common crops in Stardew Valley, these item codes can also help players in their pursuit of cooking every meal in the game.
Item | ID Code |
---|---|
Cauliflower | [190] |
Green Bean | [188] |
Parsnip | [24] |
Potato | [192] |

Eggplant | [272] |
Pumpkin | [276] |

Fishing Bundle Item Codes
Although fishing is one of the most entertaining activities in Stardew Valley, finding every fish in the game can be a pain. Fishes vary depending on the season, time of the day, and weather. Furthermore, some fish can only be found in specific locations, some of which need to be unlocked first. If players don't want to mod the game and get any spoilers — or simply don't want to go around fishing — this would be the easiest way of completing the fishing bundle. Some fish are also great for recipes that boost the players' stats, but not all of them are easy to obtain. This chart won't include the Crab Pot Bundle, since these items are pretty easy to find as they can be obtained every season.

Stardew Valley 1.6 Update Item Codes
The new Stardew Valley update, released on March 19, 2024, included several new amazing features — and, of course, items. However, some of these items are a little bit harder to acquire than others. Players who don't want to wait to finish quests or to get the money to purchase new books, crops, and resources, can simply use the item ID to get them through this exploit.
With the new update, players can now also refer to the items with specific names, and not only numbers. The following items will be listed with this new sorting system, but it works in the same way as it does with the numbered IDs. However, some item IDs might be too long to fit into the name. In this case, players won't be able to do the exploit.
Stardew Valley Now Offers Books

Stardew Valley requires a significant time commitment, so it's good to know what you're getting into before you clear your schedule to play it.
With the new update, Stardew Valley now has a book vendor going through town two times per season. The books help the players level up their skills quicker, as well as unlock certain features, such as getting all the recipes, the prices of objects in the inventory, and gaining more speed. However, books can be a tad expensive, especially for new farmers, so a quick way to get them would be with the item codes.

One of the most exciting new elements for Stardew Valley 1.6 is four different crops that players can now harvest on their farm: Carrot, Powdermelon, Broccoli, and Summer Squash. However, none of these seeds or vegetables can be purchased. Players can only acquire them through Mayor Lewis' new prize machine or in the Raccoon Shop after completing the quests.
